about DAT SYSTEM
DAT SYSTEM is engineered to work in the exact same manner as conventional basement retaining wall design, which relies on vertical steel reinforcing bars installed inside the block to resist tension forces that develop in the masonry from lateral earth pressure. The only difference is that conventional reinforcing is installed internally during construction to prevent wall failure whereas DAT SYSTEM is installed externally after construction to repair a wall failure.

DAT SYSTEM Superior to…
-
CARBON FIBER STRAPS
Not difficult, messy, or time-consuming. Acts as the primary wall reinforcement (not secondary reinforcement that carbon fiber was developed for). Adjustable reinforcing system that can be periodically tightened to reduce the wall bowing over time. Works with walls that are bowed more than 1 inch.
-
Earth Anchors
Engineered with more dependable structural mechanics as opposed to less consistent and frequently unknown, soil mechanics. No excavation or damage to existing landscaping. Not impacted by future fluctuations in groundwater levels. Does not require through-wall penetrations that increase groundwater flow through basement walls.
-
Steel I-Beam Reinforcing
Sleeker system that extends far less distance into the interior basement space than I-beams, making it far less invasive. No floor slab demolition for anchorage at the base. No problematic concentrated loads into the wood framing at the first floor level above the basement. Adjustable reinforcing system that can be periodically tightened to reduce the wall bowing over time. Does not require utility relocation.
